Solution Analyst - Data Integration

• Analyse business requirements and assess suitability of BI solutions and document specifications; in the Customer and Lifestyle business domain areas
• Participate in all aspects of solution design, implementation and support including Integrated Data Hub (IOD) data modelling, and Extract/Transform/Load (ETL) data integration as primary focus; as well as and Business Intelligence (BI) reporting and presentation as secondary focus
• When necessary develop solutions components using combination of Oracle DBMS, Oracle PL/SQL, MongoDB, AWS Redshift, Informatica ETL, Cognos, Qlik and other relevant technologies
• When necessary manage vendors and QA their deliverables in detail and ensure any defects and non-compliance in standards addressed promptly.
• Work as part of project teams to deliver solutions and potentially support all aspects of the delivery including analysis, testing and demonstration.
• Contribute to standards and frameworks for data modelling, data integration/ETL and reporting and ensure these are being consistently used in the design and development of all relevant solutions
• Ensure new BI applications integrate and comply with the BI architecture
• Ensure project testing meets the company practice and standard and collaborate with testing team as necessary.
• Keep abreast of the latest trends in BI technologies and practice, technologies on application integration, process management and service-orientated application development
• Keep abreast of the business strategy, business plan and latest industrial trends
• Collaborate with other IT teams to drive business and technology innovation

• Degree qualification in Information Technology related discipline
• At least 3 years of experience in application database and BI development
• Technically strong in BI Development technologies and approaches, clearly able to articulate advantages and disadvantages of different technical approaches
• Proven experience in applying Software Engineering best practices and techniques such as structured analysis, use cases and formal estimation
• Essential to have strong understanding of Data Warehouse and Data Lake concepts and competence in SQL (preferably Oracle PL/SQL and AWS Redshift)
• Essential to have understanding and experience with dimensional modelling concepts (star schema, slowly-changing dimensions etc.)
• Experience with BI Tools and technologies (data modelling, data integration/ETL, reporting, visualisation, metadata management, data quality management etc.)
• Experience in Unix / Linix
• Experience with AWS cloud platform is beneficial
• Ability to listen and articulate ideas verbally and in written formats to a broad range of audiences; ability to ask probing questions and deliver presentations
• Strong interpersonal skills; promoting healthy relationships and team dynamics
• Well-developed analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, leveraging both logic and creativity; strong troubleshooting skills; ability to identify patterns and generate ideas
• Focus on customer needs; ability to set expectations and understand end user behaviour
• Good understanding of technology concepts, trends and capabilities
