Our team is also focused on developing the overall Culture of Innovation within Technology and the broader HSBC organisation and to facilitate making Innovation part of everyone’s daily corporate interactions and engagement.This will be a new role within DBS and will provide a unique opportunity for the right individual to define and implement a sustainable innovation platform with our most strategic 3rd party partners.Role DefinitionAs the Technology Innovation & Enablement Partner in the technology domain, you will play a crucial role in fostering collaborative relationships with strategic third-party organizations. Your primary objective will be to establish and nurture partnerships that drive mutual value and deliver innovative solutions to both companies involved. This role requires a strong understanding of the technology landscape, excellent communication skills, and the ability to identify and capitalize on emerging trends and opportunities.As part of this role you will be expected to translate ideas into “explorations” and then into “production” - securing resources from the partners and HSBC businesses and functions to develop the ideas into robust business cases, clickable prototypes and then into productive use on behalf of and in collaboration with the business.One of the key measures of success will be the conversion rate from ideas: explorations: to live projects / programmes. HSBC needs to ensure that we capitalise on the strong partner relationships we have developed securing access to cutting edge technology to improve the lives of our customers and the achievement of our business strategies.Job responsibilities
  • Partnership Development: Identify, evaluate, and establish strategic partnerships with external technology organizations that align with the company's innovation goals and objectives.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders from partner companies, including senior executives, product managers, and technical teams. The individual must be comfortable working across multiple lines of business within HSBC, geographies and stakeholders to manage the pipeline of innovative ideas flowing between HSBC and its partners. This will involve consolidating ideas to present to our partners and, similarly, directing the partners’ conversations to the most appropriate potential sponsors within the bank.
  • Collaboration Facilitation: Facilitate collaboration between internal teams and partner organizations, ensuring effective communication and alignment of goals, resources, and timelines. The individual should be a polished leader able to confidently ask for buy-in from subject matter experts to contribute budget/resources/content, and to regularly report to your greater team and leadership on the value the innovation program is bringing to HSBC; and or be comfortable to escalate with the right management connections when it is not delivering. Leverage professional networks to attain critical resources. Key stakeholders to include Technology Executive Committee members and underlying Innovation leadership. Group Executive Committee members and their key innovation leaders. External executive team members associated with the key external 3rd parties we plan to engage.
  • Innovation Planning: Work closely with partners and internal teams to develop innovation roadmaps, identifying areas of mutual interest and potential opportunities for collaboration.
  • Solution Delivery: Coordinate and oversee the successful execution of joint innovation projects, ensuring that deliverables are met, and solutions are of high quality. Successful conversion of innovations into 3rd party commercial agreements where required. Negotiate complex business models, partnerships, transactions, and other commercial agreements in partnership with procurement and legal where necessary to support the transfer / exploration of custom IP and overall delivery of underlying contracts. Identify and target attainable opportunities in the market. Evaluate new business models and opportunities to deepen corporate partnership relationships.
  • Market Analysis: Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and market dynamics, providing insights and recommendations to both partner companies. Identify pools of innovation across HSBC, maintaining a close relationship with each to evaluate and provide innovative ideas, develop, run and assess programs to capture and explore innovative ideas to the point of conversion into a funded initiative. Understand the internal and external market potential for such innovations. Full collaboration and engagement with chosen strategic 3rd parties and facilitating and enabling their assistance in helping us to deliver the outcomes we seek. Support and alignment with the broader Powered by Cloud and Vision 27 Culture of Innovation programme and sub-work stream objectives.
  • Performance Evaluation: Monitor and measure the success of innovation projects and partnerships, using defined metrics and KPIs to assess the value and impact generated.
Thought Leadership: Represent the company as a subject matter expert in technology innovation, speaking at conferences, participating in industry events, and contributing to thought leadership initiatives.
Strategy: Ability to clearly define company goals and long-term strategy in relationship and in linkage with innovation goals and strategy.RequirementsBackground Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as technology, engineering, or business. A master's degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in technology-related roles, including partnership management, business development, or innovation. Experience in working with global teams and cross-functional collaboration is highly desirable.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of technology trends, emerging technologies, and their applications. Familiarity with areas such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), or data analytics is advantageous.
  • Relationship Building: Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with external partners and stakeholders at various levels, leveraging those relationships to drive successful outcomes.
  • Strategic Thinking: Demonstrated ability to think strategically, identify market opportunities, and develop innovative solutions in collaboration with partners.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex ideas to diverse audiences. Strong presentation and negotiation skills are essential.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, adapting quickly to changing priorities and business needs.
  • Results Orientation: Track record of delivering on targets, meeting deadlines, and driving successful outcomes in a partnership-driven environment.
